![[ ]](http://s1.images.proboards.com/off.gif) | The Lake A little ways down the side of the school is the enchanting Middlesborough lake. A lovely place to study or, if you need a break, to swim. The water is very clean and always refreshing. During the winter, it's the perfect place to skate.

![[ ]](http://s1.images.proboards.com/off.gif) | The Great Hall Upon entering the vast wooden oak doors leading from the court yard, students will find themselves in a circular dome, facing another grand pair of oak doors, inside is the beautiful Great Hall. A dinning area/study hall furbished with 4 great tables in size and beauty and a fifth table at the very end of the room, which stretches from one side to the other, for the teachers and headmistress. Great, sparkling chandeliers hang, suspended from the ceiling and fresh bouquets of flowers are always on the tables.

![[ ]](http://s1.images.proboards.com/off.gif) | Detention Hall ... Slightly next to the Great Hall doors is a small stair-case, consisting of 3 stone steps. These take you down into a gloomy little side passage, lit only by a few tourches that line the walls. Off to the side is a wooden door with a glass panel, which (in big blak bold lettering) says, "Detention Hall" ... the students perfer to call it, "Hell".

![[ ]](http://s1.images.proboards.com/off.gif) | Theatre ... On the other side of the Great hall doors is, like the entrance way into the detention center, a few stone steps, walk down these and some odd feet to get to the main entrance to the gorgeous Middlesborough Theatre. One of the main attractions and probably the only thing in the academy that wasn't messed with hardly (except for some basic cleaning) when the school was re-founded.

![[ ]](http://s1.images.proboards.com/off.gif) | Science Lab ... coming up a grand stair case from the basement (main entrance, whichever you prefer) is the First Floor. Decked out in chandeliers and torches, you begin to realize that this is one helluva school. If you turn sharply to your right, you find yourself in front of the science lab door. Inside is a room lined with aquariums, books, fossils, state of the art science equipment and brand new lab desks.

![[ ]](http://s1.images.proboards.com/off.gif) | Computer Room ... Now, if you turn sharply to the left, you find yourself in front of the computer room door. Step inside and be greeted by the smell of electronics, the cold air, and the soft buzzing of computer software. There's tons of personal computers to choose from. All flat-screen and offering the best high-speed Internet connection around, along with wireless mouse's, see-through towers and some pretty awesome computer games, this place has it all

![[ ]](http://s1.images.proboards.com/off.gif) | Teacher's Lounge A view doors down from the science lab and computer room is the lovely, quaint teacher's lounge, where our professors will find low, relaxing lights, comfortable coaches and chairs, fleece throw rugs, entertainment equipment, coffee machines (ranging from the highly popular espresso to cappuccinos), pop machines and an always fresh, always supplied snack and salad bar. Yep, it's good to teach.

| Second Floor |
![[ ]](http://s1.images.proboards.com/off.gif) | English Class Next to the first floor stair case you have another grand stair case which, ironically, takes you to the second floor, which is as breath-taking in gothic old elegance beauty as the second floor is. Just above the science lab is the English room. Where students are often greeted by the warm smell of incense and the rushing sound of a distant water fall or the pat-pat of rain emitting from a hidden cd player. The students get to sit on big pillows and throw rugs from all different sizes and colors. Along the walls are bookshelves, covered with literature, some from the dark ages.

| //Outside of School// .::Plaza Strip::. |
![[ ]](http://s1.images.proboards.com/off.gif) | Barnes and Noble ... Considering that Middlesborough Academy is so ... well ... isolated, it takes a good 30 minute bus ride to get to the nearest form of civilization. Welcome to the plaza strip! Located in a quaint little "village" if you will, where it's very student friendly. Buses leave from the school about everyday, if weather permits it. The first shop on the strip is none other then, Barnes and Noble.

Often or not this place reminds the students of their English class. Visitors are welcome to sit on the floor surrounded by cushions, pillows and fleece rugs of all sorts. There's plenty of coffee to go around as well as a menu chalk full of all sorts of vegan delights. Poetry readings happen nightly. Make yourself right at home in the darkly lit Mardy-bum

![[ ]](http://s1.images.proboards.com/off.gif) | Karma (Dance Club) If that Hippie stuff ain't your style and your looking for a hot, good time then keep walking and you'll soon find yourself in front of Karma. On the outside it doesn't look like much and during the day, it looks vacant and run down, but sneak away from the school, catch a night bus and pop on in through the back way (there's always someone there, propping open the door) where students are immediately engulfed with music so loud, you can feel it racing through your pulse and pounding in your ears, bright lights, a shiny dance floor and so much alcohol and illegal substances your head begins to spin just looking at it all. Welcome to Karma.

![[ ]](http://s1.images.proboards.com/off.gif) | McCormick and Schmitz On a corner, sitting all by it's lonesome is McCormick and Schmitz, the highest dinning around. They offer the finniest food and the best desert you could possibly imagine ... their signature chocolate bag. A small bag made completely from the finniest European Swiss Chocolate, oozing from the inside is sweet chocolate moose and fresh, slightly tart berries. A perfect end to a perfect romantic evening.
